Do You Want Your Breasts Back Up Where They Belong?

If you answered “yes” to this question, then you may be a candidate for a Breast Lift.

If you have ever wished that your breasts would stay “up” when you took your bra off, or your nipples pointed forward instead of down, or your breasts were perkier, then this information is for you.

Women’s breasts are made up of glandular tissue, fat and connective tissue. The tightness of the connective tissue depends on age, health, and your family genetics. Due to other factors such as weight loss/gain, pregancy, time and gravity breasts can become droopy, and lose their shape and can cause some women to become unhappy with the shape and appearance of their breasts.

Depending on how much sagging you have, in some situations a breast implant by itself will correct some minor sagging, and add volume but after a certain point only a Breast Lift can bring the breast back up and restore its shape and perkiness. If your nipples are beneath the fold of your breasts you can anticipate needing a breast lift.

You can use this diagram below to get an idea of what grade of Ptosis (sagging) you have.

The goal of a breast lift is to restore the breast the shape and perkiness to the breast. For many women, they will not be able to regain their shape without surgery. Most breast lift patients are women in their 30’s and 40’s who have had children, and lost breast volume and support, or whose breasts have become saggy and possibly smaller. A woman can have a breast lift at any age, as long as she is a good candidate. We do recommend waiting until you are done having children to have a surgery.

While this surgery is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries performed each year, with a high satisfaction rate, there are still issues to consider before choosing to have this surgery. Is it the right time in your life? Do you have a support system to take care of you (and help with your children if you have them)? Do you have enough time off of work to recover? In addition to this, are you financially prepared to pay for surgery?

One of the biggest factors to consider is that the trade off for a perkier, more youthful looking breast is the scar. While the scars will hide in your bra’s and bathing suits, and fade over time, they will never go away, the scar will always be there. For some women, the trade is an easy decision to make, but if a woman does not have significant sagging, it might not be worth it.

This is a personal choice that only you can make.

If you are struggling with embarrassment, or other issues because of your sagging breasts, then a breast lift can help you feel better about your appearance in and out of clothes, and increase your self-confidence.

To find out if a breast lift is right for you, it will take a consultation with our board-Certified surgeon, Dr. Dehghan. Once he can examine your anatomy and know what your concerns are, he can give you his professional opinion.
