Relieving Discomfort and Restoring Mobility
Ganglion Cyst Removal
Ganglion cysts are fluid-filled sacs that often develop near joints or tendons, most commonly in the wrist and hand. While they are typically benign, these cysts can cause discomfort, pain, and limitations in hand function, especially if they press on nearby nerves or tissues.
Treatment options for ganglion cysts vary depending on the severity of symptoms and individual preferences. In cases where the cyst is small and not causing significant discomfort, a “wait-and-see” approach may be recommended, as some cysts may resolve on their own over time. However, if the cyst is causing pain or interfering with hand function, intervention may be necessary.
Surgical removal of the ganglion cyst is a common treatment option, especially if the cyst is large or causing persistent symptoms. During the procedure, the cyst is carefully excised, along with any associated tissue or structures that may be contributing to its formation. This can help alleviate pain and prevent recurrence of the cyst in the future.
